Hawaiian Memories Manny K. Fernandez You may know Manny K. Fernandez as a veteran musician and former ambassador of Hawaii, who, while under the employ of Hawaiian Airlines, traveled the globe performing with other notable entertainers like Andy Cummings. On "Hawaiian Memories," you'll learn much more about this keiki o ka aina (child of the land), who grew up in Kaimuki, close to the ocean waves he loved. You'll learn about how he became a waterman, a beachboy, friend of the late Duke Kahanamoku and other famous surfers of the day - all practitioners of the "Sport of Kings." Manny shares the memories that are attached to each of the 24 songs on the CD. Old timers will nod in remembrance and newcomers will be afforded a glimpse into another time in our Hawaii nei. Here is a wonderful collection of oldtime Hawaiian and Hapa-Haole songs that are sure to charm... sung by a real charmer, Manny K. Fernandez! Sunshine

The Kahauanu Lake Trio at the Kaimana Beach Hotel in Waikiki Honolulu, Hawaii, October 12, 2006 ... The Kahauanu Lake Trio probably the most admired, and certainly one of the most enduringly pleasing groups ever to appear in the islands. Ukulele, bass and guitar are basic components of almost every Hawaiian group but in the hands of these three, the instruments have a sound that no one else has come close to copying - even by adopting Kahauanu's characteristic of playing ukulele left-handed, with standard tuning. Then there are the three marvelous double voices, owned and operated by the three charming rascals: Al Machida, and brothers Kahauanu Lake and Tommy Lake. Their choice of songs on this, as on their previous albums, are old favorites that are given new value in Kahauanu's arrangements, which set a style that only his trio can follow. The spirit and sound of their performance is instantly recognizable, immensely pleasing and in the best Hawaiian tradition. NA WAI E PIPI`I • LEI
